To protect and serve?

I had a little incident with my local police dept. The other night. The police received an anonymous false tip that there was and under age party taking place at my home. The police staked out my house to see if there was anything going on. There was not anything going on. After sitting outside my home for some time they decided to call my house from a cell phone at 1am in the morning. My wife and I were asleep. My step daughters were up watching a movie. One of my step daughters answered the phone the police did not ID himself he asked for Ms. gosselin. My step daughter said she was not home out of habit of dealing with telemarketers. The police officer the ask when she would be back, my step daughter replied in the morning can I take a message. NO message .
Now my step daughters a freaking out that they just told some guy at 1 in the morning that their mother is not home. I'm woken up and angry. So I call back the number on the caller id to see who called and why at 1 am. The man on the phone still didn't ID himself as the police he said he didn't call the number the only person he called was his girlfriend and maybe a wrong number. ( I was to tired to put 1 and 1 together. Fact was he asked for a Ms. gosselin and then he tells me that he only called his girl friend. If I were a jealous man I would have gone nuts. The man on the phone said his name was Jeff I told him my first name and asked why he called my house. This would have been a good time for the police officer to ID himself but no.
I hung up the phone told my wife and step kids they had nothing to worry about. The step kids kept worrying. About 10 min. Later there was a ring at the front door now it's 2am. I'm pissed and ready to do anything it takes to protect my family and home. I fly down the stairs in my boxer shorts with the intent of ending this problem one way or another.
Well well it's the police. Now the decide to come to the door and id themselves.
There were so many flaws in the actions that the police took that night. They did not gather enough information. Whose house were they checking on. You would think at the very least they would find out whose house they were staking out. But what they had instead was the teenagers name that was supposally having a party. They claimed that there were 4 cars in the drive way. This is true but 2 were covered with snow from the previous days snowstorm and hadn't been moved and had they typed in the license plate numbers they would have seen that they were the homeowners cars. duhhhhh.
innocent until proven guilty. Proper information proper police work?
I went to the chief of police to say I was upset over the incident and how it created a state of panic through out my house for no reason. He shrugged and said they did nothing wrong.
I wanted a simple I'm extremely sorry for the inconvenience and that we scared you and your family we were checking out a tip and I'm sorry that it turned out this way . But a shrug of the shoulder a s if to say tough shit. Is not going to work for me . I went to him upset no I'm pissed
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
remember when the when David banner says you wouldn't like me when I'm angry and starts to turn green. Oh baby that me right now.
